The $14,000 morning, and what AI reads before it recommends you
A note from the founder
For the last few years I have been the person behind the scenes for founders: building the systems, the sales and marketing engines, and now the AI that turns a business running on one person into a business run by a team.
I have watched founders and team members go from drowning to free, business double year over year, and visions become reality. That is the work I love and the essence of what Origin will bring to the community.
The System Drop is where we do that work in the open. One real system a week, in your inbox: a template, workflow, or framework pulled straight from how Origin builds businesses. Not theory. Not a newsletter of opinions.
Here is to following our hearts, doing work that makes us feel alive, and using the skills given to us to make the world a better place for future generations.
I am genuinely glad you are here.
Zack Petrocca, Founder, Origin
What we will get into
Every drop is one real system to put to work, plus a read on the news and shifts actually worth your time. The ground we will cover:
- Grow the top line: Sales & Lead Gen, Marketing, Hiring & Team.
- Build the machine: AI & Automation, SOPs & Systems, Meetings & Rhythm.
- Lead it: Metrics & Finance, Leadership & Vision.
- The Signal: the news and shifts worth your attention, every drop.
This week's system
How we turned a dormant database into $14,000 of recurring revenue in one morning. A client had 4,000 members and had never emailed them. We built the email system inside their app, sent four emails in one morning, one per member state, and just over $2,000 came in that week, with an estimated $14,000 over the life of those subscriptions. The playbook shows exactly what we built, what we sent, and the one rule to take with you: one message per customer, matched to where they are.
The Signal
Mortgage rates hit a 2026 high. The 30-year fixed reached 6.71% this week, its highest since July 2025, after a global bond selloff, and forecasters warn of 7% this fall. Our take: buyers hesitate and sellers get nervous, which means your follow-up system matters more, not less. CNN
AI is reading your reviews before it recommends you. AI assistants pulled 249,000 agent-reputation pages in two months, up 15.9% in a single month. Brokerage pages get read 2.2x more than individual agent profiles, and agents with a review in the last 30 days get 40% more reads. Our take: reviews are a system now, not a hope. RealEstateNews
The AI holdouts are gone. Only 1.9% of brokerages say they will not adopt AI in 2026, down from 10.6% in 2024, and brokerages with no AI use at all fell from 24.8% to 3.9%. The one inconsistent segment: shops with fewer than 10 agents. Our take: the gap is no longer adoption. It is execution. HousingWire
In focus
Why every $2M founder is still the lead router. Put a real estate team, a design firm, and an agency in the same room and ask who decides where a new lead goes. The founder, all three, every time. The pattern, the 7:41pm phone, and the three artifacts that break it. Read it

Prompt of the week
What Does AI Say About You? Your next client may never Google you. They ask ChatGPT who the best agent in town is and stop there. This prompt makes the AI search for you, answer the questions a stranger asks, score you on five things, and hand you the fixes with the exact copy. Two minutes, usually humbling.
