Book a walk-through

For marketing, creative & digital agencies · $3M to $20M

Your agency bills $6M a year. And the founder is still the account lead on every client that matters.

Origin OS installs the ownership, delivery, and margin infrastructure an agency needs to grow past its founder: who owns each account, how the work gets delivered without the senior people in every meeting, and a scoreboard that shows utilization and margin before the month closes. Built by a fractional COO who installs these systems inside founder-led service businesses.

The pattern we see at $3M-$20M

Sound familiar?

You are the account lead on every account that matters

Clients bought you. So every strategy call, every escalation, and every renewal still routes through the founder, and the team learned to wait for your answer instead of owning theirs.

Margin is a surprise at month end

Scope creeps, hours go unlogged, and utilization is a feeling. You find out which accounts made money when the books close, three weeks after you could have done anything about it.

Delivery lives in your senior people’s heads

Onboarding a client, running a campaign, shipping a project: the process exists, but only in the people who have done it. When one of them leaves, so does the process, and the founder becomes the backup.

Why listen to us

Agencies have the same founder bottleneck as every other service business, with one twist: the client relationship is the product, so the founder is harder to pull out of delivery. The fix is the same five systems, installed in an order that moves account ownership first.

The prescription

Right-sized ways in.

Same operating system, three depths. Start where your problem actually is, from a free score to an operator in the seat.

What Tuesday looks like after

Every account has an owner who is not you. Delivery runs from written playbooks a new hire can follow in week two. Utilization and margin are on a scoreboard the team reads every Monday, so the month is managed while it is still happening.

What operators say

The proof isn’t a promise. It’s their words.

“I'm a real estate team leader, and I brought in Zack to help with some consulting, help me put some systems in place, and I've applied it not only to my team stats but my personal stats. Last year I sold about $7.3 million in real estate, and this year, it's early October, I far surpassed that, and I should hit around $11 million in sales with everything I have pending ... I went from an independent contractor to a business owner, and that is what Zack has done for me.”

“I brought Zack on as our fractional COO, and it's one of the best decisions I've made for Curio. I'm a creative at heart, and the systems, operations, and sales were where I kept getting stuck. He didn't just advise, he built: a custom operating system, our CRM, our marketing across social and email, our sales strategy, and how we deliver for clients. I went from holding the whole business in my head to running it on real systems.”

FAQ

What agencies ask us

What does a fractional COO do for an agency?

Builds the operating layer the founder has been carrying: account ownership so the founder is not the lead on every client, written delivery processes so senior people are not the only ones who can run the work, a scoreboard for utilization and margin, and a weekly rhythm the team runs. Then helps hire the operations seat and steps back.

We already use a project management tool. Is that not the system?

A tool holds a system that exists. If the process for onboarding a client or shipping a campaign lives in your senior people rather than in a written playbook, the tool is a very organized record of improvisation. Write the process once, then the tool runs it.

Our problem is margin, not the founder. Does this help?

Margin problems at $3M to $20M are usually ownership problems in disguise: nobody owns scope on each account, so scope creeps, and nobody owns utilization, so it is a surprise. The Scoreboard puts a name on both numbers and reviews them weekly, which is where margin gets managed.

How is Origin different from an agency coach or an EOS implementer?

A coach advises and an implementer facilitates. Origin installs: the map, the playbooks, the scoreboard, and the rhythm are built in the room and left running. The first step is a free diagnostic that scores all five systems and names the weakest one.
